SIGNS, FLYERS, AND MORE

There's joy in a well-designed announcement — one that stops the scroll or survives the recycling bin. From event signage and invitations to gift tags and beyond, even the simplest piece can be made to feel special, intentional, and worth holding onto.

FACEBOOK ANNOUNCEMENTS AND HAND-PAINTED SIGNS

Inspired by vintage hand-painted signs and old grocery store window advertisements, I created both digital and physical versions for our neighborhood tag sale — one for Facebook, and one for the real world. The physical signs were painted by hand rather than printed, which turned out to be the most satisfying part of the whole project.

NEIGHBORHOOD HALLOWEEN FLYERS

Halloween is a big deal in our neighborhood. I created these flyers — along with digital versions for our neighborhood Facebook page — to announce the annual best decoration contest. Each flyer came with a balloon attached, so residents could mark their mailboxes to let trick-or-treaters know they were participating.

NEIGHBORHOOD SIGN REFRESH

When the sign at the entrance to our neighborhood blew off during a storm, I decided she deserved more than just a repair — she deserved a glow up. I patched her corners, gave her a fresh coat of paint, updated the font, and finished her off with a little gold leaf trim. Before and after below.

BLOCK PARTY WELCOME SIGN

I created this welcome sign for the entrance to our annual block party. By setting it up on a table under a shade structure, I could mingle and enjoy the party like everyone else — no clipboard, no cash box required.

PERSONALIZED GIFT TAGS

With just three of us in my household, there's not much mystery about who a gift is from — but that's no reason to skimp on presentation. I cut these gift tags on the vinyl cutter to give the packages a little extra personality. And for a few friends with young children, I made Santa-specific tags in a handwriting that was decidedly not Mom's or Dad's. Sometimes the magic is in the details.
